April 26, 2018 (Kelowna, BC) – The United Way Bus Pull returns to downtown Kelowna Saturday, May 26th with another chance for teams of 8 to transform our community through fundraising and true grit.  Only 2 team spots are left for the 12 team round-robin style event that pairs 2 teams side by side in time trials.

Last year, 12 teams raised over $21,000. The top team earns bragging rights to the United Way Community Cup plus a number of other trophies are handed out at the event including Top Fundraising Team, Top Individual Fundraiser, Best Costume and Most Enthusiastic (yes, dead last)!

“We are so excited for this year’s Bus Pull! It promises to be a fantastic family day,” says Helen Jackman, United Way CSO Executive Director. “The United Way Possibility Posse has been training hard and is expecting (ahem) to lift the cup! Come and join us, shout for the teams, lend your support and give back to your community.”

This year several sponsors hopped on board to support the event including First Transit Group and Lamar Transit Advertising. This high energy, fun event is presented and emceed by K96.3 morning show hosts, David and Tony. Numerous other media partners are providing in-kind support and promotions including Castanet, Capital News, Kelowna Now and Global Okanagan. Thanks to event partners, BC Transit, City of Kelowna and Prospera Place, who are providing the venue and logistical support.

Prospera Place will host the event again in the south parking lot directly across from the Rotary Centre of the Arts. Families and friends are encouraged to come down and cheer on their favourite team. Bring the kids to enjoy the new Kids Zone, thanks to City of Kelowna’s Park and Play program, which includes a bouncy castle and a plethora of kids games.

Join us for a great family event and help us build a stronger, healthier community for all.
