September 19 (Vernon) – A wonderful display of local love last Thursday evening in Vernon, as Bannister Honda hosted United Way SIBC’s North Okanagan Campaign Kickoff Reception. Presented by MNP LLP, the event brought together local community champions from local workplaces, corporate sponsors, charity partners, volunteers and community leaders for a sneak peek of the 2019 #UNIGNORABLE fall campaign. The room was a sea of orange and everyone enjoyed the donated refreshments from Gray Monk Estate Winery and Okanagan Springs.

About #UNIGNORABLE:

#UNIGNORABLE is United Way’s unique campaign that highlights the key issues in our community in a new, surprising & cut-through-the-clutter way. In our busy lives and when we are bombarded every day with bad news from across the world, it is easy to lose sight of the issues affecting our local community – issues like poverty, homelessness, domestic violence… And it may be that we do not see them or we simply choose to ignore them. United Way highlights ignored local issues with the most unignorable colour in the world. We are on a mission to raise awareness of local, social issues and help the most vulnerable people so they have a chance at a better way of life.
