Nov 6 & 7 – Digital Animation

Do you like doodling and day-dreaming about far-away fantasy worlds and colourful characters? If so, let’s make your creations come to life! Using professional software and animation techniques, you’ll create a story board and bring 3D character to life. Please bring your imagination to this workshop!

Using industry software and the guided expertise from a seasoned designer and instructor, the students will develop the skills to design their own 3D projects. Easy to follow concepts will be taught and then the students will add their own creativity. There will also be discussions about what 3D printing can be used for and what materials are available. Each student will receive one printed project.

Nov 20th & 21 – Discover Mechatronics

What do you get when you combine mechanical engineering and electrical engineering? A really fun and interactive workshop! Interact with sensors, program a microcontroller, and make things move. You will develop a foundation of electronics knowledge and an understanding of the open source Arduino programming platform.

Past Workshops:

May 15 & 16 – General Coding 

You will explore the fundamentals of programming with objects and design. Using both a simple IDE and a commercial IDE, students will program two programs. We will also discuss what the computer science industry looks like and what opportunities there are.

May 22 & 23 – Video Game Development/Programming

You will explore the fundamentals of video game programming and design. Working with a 2D engine, students will design their own game from scratch. We will also discuss what the computer science industry looks like and what opportunities there are.

May 29 & 30 – 3D Design & Printing:

Using industry software and the guided expertise from a seasoned designer and instructor, the students will develop the skills to design their own 3D projects.
