June 18, 2019 (Kelowna, BC) – The local Hospital Employees Union and North Okanagan Labour Council got behind the United Way’s Period Promise campaign in a big way this spring. The two groups gathered period product donations and delivered several giant boxes to the United Way office. The products were then delivered to the very appreciative H.O.P.E. Outreach (serving Vernon and Kelowna) and KARIS programs to distribute to their clients. Thank you HEU and NOLC!

About Period Promise:

The Period Promise campaign is a United Way initiative. Period Promise is intended to reduce the prevalence of period poverty in the province of British Columbia, while also promoting the cause of menstrual equity. It does so by promoting collaboration with local groups and mobilizing the public to help solve the problem in whatever way they can. More info at: www.periodpromise.ca or www.uwlm.ca.
