Which fund is best for you?

There are several funding opportunities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants must be a registered charity and requests to the fund must be related to relief from the COVID-19 pandemic to be considered eligible.

Emergency Community Support Fund

This fund provides financial support to local non-profits adapting their frontline services to support vulnerable Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ECSF is funded by the Government of Canada through Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and is administered in collaboration with United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada and the Canadian Red Cross.

Eligible registered charities and non-profits can apply by the June 26, 2020 deadline. Allocations will be announced in mid-July.

Sustainable Recovery Grant

United Way has partnered with Interior Savings Credit Union, Valley First, Community Foundation of the North Okanagan and Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen, to support sustainability and resilience for the charitable sector as we look to recovery from COVID-19.

This grant will provide customized entrepreneurial coaching and support for charitable social enterprises and charities with emerging needs in four key areas: revenue, operations, people and impact.

COVID-19 Community Relief Fund

The United Way COVID-19 Relief Fund is a collaboration between the the United Way SIBC and the Foundations of the North, Central and South Okanagan providing grants to local charities responding to and impacted by COVID-19. Applications are currently being accepted on a rolling basis. Phase 1 of the funding has been allocated across the region.
