We have now allocated all the available funding and the recipients will be listed on the page above or on the COVID19 Impact page. Moving forward, all COVID-19 emerging needs will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.  Contact us if you have any questions.

Emergency Community Support Fund

The Emergency Community Support Fund provided financial support to local non-profits adapting their frontline services to support vulnerable Canadians during the COVID-19 pandemic. The ECSF is funded by the Government of Canada through Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and is administered in collaboration with United Way Centraide Canada, Community Foundations of Canada and the Canadian Red Cross.

We’ve allocated all available funding. Allocations and the list of recipients will be announced in early August.

Sustainable Recovery Grant

United Way has partnered with Interior Savings Credit Union, Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, Community Foundation of the North Okanagan and Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen, to support sustainability and resilience for the charitable sector as they recover from COVID-19.

This grant provides customized entrepreneurial coaching and support for charitable social enterprises and charities with emerging needs in four key areas: revenue, operations, people and impact. This recipients were announced in July 2020.

COVID-19 Community Relief Fund

The United Way COVID-19 Relief Fund is a collaboration between the the United Way SIBC and the Foundations of the North, Central and South Okanagan as well as the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program. The fund provided grants to local charities responding to and impacted by COVID-19. All funding has been allocated across the region.
