Coast Capital Savings recently announced funding through their Community Investment Grants for Youth program benefiting the CODEanagan program.

CODEanagan is  a community partnership program which aims to kick start tech skills for disadvantaged youth aged 16-22. CODEanagan provides tech skills, builds networks and exposes them to opportunities in the tech sector through boot camps, coaching, and financial support.

A pilot program ran in 2018 with spring and fall bootcamps and an Innovation Centre tour. Over 200 kids registered for the bootcamps and tour. To sustain the program for 2019 and beyond, a fundraising campaign is underway headed by United Way to top up the Coast Capital Savings and RBC grant (provided in late 2018) and then a FUNdraiser called Techathlon is scheduled for March 7 – April 25, 2019 to engage the tech sector and anyone who may interested in participating in this worthy cause.

Many thanks to the key program partners below who have invested countless hours in program development and delivery over the last year or more. UBC Okanagan’s Geering Up program also advised on the program development.
