June 27, 2019 (Kelowna) – Boyd Autobody and Glass presented a cheque to the United Way team for $10,000 as their sponsorship contribution to the first annual “Average Players Who Give a Puck” charity hockey tournament held this spring. Boyd Autobody, long-time supporters of community initiatives, ran a marketing campaign in April and May with $50 from windshield replacements & $20 from chip repairs going to the event and ultimately to United Way Southern Interior BC.

The final tally for the 2 day event was $15,600! The fundraiser which was the brainchild of Rick Maddison of Tempest Media included a draft night & auction, courtesy of Freddy’s Brew Pub, an early morning golf tournament and then an intense afternoon of 3 on 3 hockey games at the Ultimate Hockey Centre. Media promotions provided by K96.3 and Kelowna Now.
